Privacy Policy

Summary

Zanvuo Scan does not collect any personal information. The app never uploads your scanned images or PDFs to any cloud or server — they are kept only on this device. Your phone's own system backup can include them so you don't lose them when changing phones; you can turn this off in More.

1. No personal data is collected

The app has no account, no sign-in and no registration. It does not collect, store on any server, sell or share your name, phone number, email, contacts, location, device identifiers, advertising identifiers or any other personal information. The app contains no advertising, no analytics and no tracking.

2. Your scans stay on your device

All photos, scanned pages, PDFs, titles, notes and tags are processed and stored only inside the app's private storage on this device. All image processing (edge detection, enhancement, orientation, glare and face position checks for ID cards) runs entirely on the device. Nothing is uploaded to any cloud, server or third party, and the developer has no access to your files.

3. No network access

The app does not need an internet connection to work, and the Android version does not request internet permission at all, so it cannot send your data anywhere.

4. Your phone's system backup

So that you don't lose your files when your phone is lost, reset or replaced, your library is by default included in your phone's own system backup (iCloud Backup or a computer backup on iPhone; Google backup and device-to-device transfer on Android). This backup is made by the operating system to your own Apple or Google account under your own settings — it is not an upload by this app, and the developer cannot access it. If you prefer your files never to leave the device, turn off “Include in system backup” in More; the library will then be excluded from these backups, and you should keep your own encrypted backup (.zvbackup) instead.

5. Permissions and why they are used

Camera: to scan documents. Photos: only the pictures you choose to import. Face ID / fingerprint: only to unlock the app or the locked library — verification is done by the operating system and the app never receives any biometric data. You can refuse any permission; only the related feature will be unavailable.

6. When files leave the device

Apart from your phone's system backup described above, files leave the device only when you choose to do so yourself — for example by tapping Share or Export, or by saving an encrypted backup (.zvbackup) to a place you pick. Where those files go is controlled by you and by the app or service you select; this policy does not cover those services. Backups are encrypted with a passphrase that only you know; it cannot be recovered by us.

7. Deleting your data

Deleted documents go to Trash and can be removed permanently there. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all of its data on this device. Copies inside your phone's system backup are managed in your iCloud or Google account settings.

8. Children

The app does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because it collects no information at all.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be shown in the app with a new effective date. We will never change the app to upload your scans without asking you first.
